What are your main management skills

Any business owner needs to be able to manage people, finances, resources and time. These include the ability and willingness to manage people, finances as well resources, time and space.

Businesses are complex systems, and they have many moving parts. They require people to manage multiple priorities and deal with uncertainty and complexity.

It is important to understand the effects of these factors on the system in order to make informed decisions.

This requires you to think about the purpose and function of each component. You then need to consider how those individual pieces interact with each other.

Also, you should ask yourself if there have been any assumptions in your past behavior. If not, you might want to revisit them.

You can always ask someone for help if you still have questions after all of this. You might find their perspective is different from yours and they may have insight that can help you find the solution.

How can Lean Manufacturing be done?

Lean Manufacturing methods are used to reduce waste through structured processes. They were developed in Japan by Toyota Motor Corporation (in the 1980s). The aim was to produce better quality products at lower costs. Lean manufacturing is about eliminating redundant steps and activities from the manufacturing process. It is composed of five fundamental elements: continuous improvement; pull systems, continuous improvements, just-in–time, kaizen, continuous change, and 5S. It is a system that produces only the product the customer requests without additional work. Continuous improvement involves constantly improving upon existing processes. Just-in time refers to components and materials being delivered right at the place they are needed. Kaizen stands for continuous improvement. Kaizen can be described as a process of making small improvements continuously. The 5S acronym stands for sort in order, shine standardize and maintain. To achieve the best results, these five elements must be used together.

Lean Production System

Six key concepts are the basis of lean production:

  • Flow is about moving material and information as near as customers can.
  • Value stream mapping- This allows you to break down each step of a process and create a flowchart detailing the entire process.
  • Five S's: Sort, Shine Standardize, Sustain, Set In Order, Shine and Shine
  • Kanban - use visual signals such as colored tape, stickers, or other visual cues to keep track of inventory;
  • Theory of constraints: Identify bottlenecks and use lean tools such as kanban boards to eliminate them.
  • Just-in time - Get components and materials delivered right at the point of usage;
  • Continuous improvement - make incremental improvements to the process rather than overhauling it all at once.
